Welcome ... to the website dedicated to the descendants of the Dennistons who arrived in County Donegal, Ireland from Scotland in the early 17th century. Since then the family has spread throughout Ireland, England, Scotland, The United States and probably beyond.
Much work has been done over the years by many people to trace the lineage of the current family members. So far, connected families include those listed on the menu on the left but also Duffys, Berkerys, McFaddens, Harkins, Gallaghers, Mees, McGettigans, Browns, Coyles, Boyles, Boyces, Ferrys, Friels, Kellys, Dalys, Walshes, Wilsons and Williams to name but a few. Even though much is known, there is still much more to be discovered. We hope that by making the information in this web site freely available, others will add to it and help us solve some more of the jigsaw.
We would like to make a special mention of the late Dr. Leslie W. Lucas who was responsible for unearthing and collating some of the early material and who put much of it into context in his books on Mevagh. We welcome any feedback so please get in touch (note email addresses are not in standard format to minimise spam).
For the latest additions, see the Scratch Pad link in the menu on the right or Recent posts on the menu on the left.
Enjoy.
